Andrew Burns
Andrew Burns brings close to 25 years experience in the financial securities industry in both the institutional sell- and buy-sides, in a broad array of areas such as quantitative research and modeling, equity derivatives research, fundamental stock research, portfolio management, venture capital, and real estate. Mr. Burns was a top-10 sell-side analyst as ranked by Reuters and Institutional Investors Magazine, with a special focus on technology companies in the Internet, IT consulting, and healthcare IT industries, and has worked in senior roles for such bulge bracket firms as Morgan Stanley, Salomon Brothers, and Deutsche Bank. He has also been involved in many IPOs and secondary issuances, developing a keen understanding of the investment banking process. Additionally, Mr. Burns sits on the board of directors, and is an adviser to a number of technology and healthcare startups. Mr. Burns has also launched and run a successful private investment fund with a focus on long/short U.S. equities, venture capital, and real estate investing. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rutgers University, an M.S. in Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and The Wharton School of Business, and is matriculating for an M.S. in Computational Finance from Stanford University's School of Engineering.
